Intermedia Extends World’s First Hosted Microsoft Exchange 2010 Beta
Published September 30th, 2009
Intermedia, the global leader in MicrosoftExchange hosting, announced that it will continue the Microsoft Exchange 2010 beta it debuted on May 27, 2009. Exchange 2010 is not yet available for sale from Microsoft. Intermedia offers the world’s first hosted Exchange 2010 beta.
“Our private label partners – as well as technology enthusiasts in the Exchange administrator community – increasingly inquire about hosted Exchange 2010,” says Serguei Sofinski, Intermedia’s chief executive officer. “We’ve extended the beta not only to accommodate them, but also to continue generating feedback that is instrumental to developing a production-ready experience. Intermedia is poised for a great launch thanks to our beta users.”
Because Intermedia’s Exchange 2010 beta is hosted, no software downloads or installations are necessary. The company’s proprietary HostPilot® Control Panel, which partners and customers use to manage their Exchange accounts, supports Exchange 2010. Unique in an industry that relies on generic control panels, HostPilot provides business executives with a simple way to adjust common Exchange settings – and IT administrators with a level of control comparable to an on-premise Exchange installation.
Intermedia’shosted Exchange 2010beta continues a tradition of practical innovation. The 14-year-old company was the first to market Microsoft Exchange 2007 as a hosted service. Today, more than 200,000 premium Exchange mailboxes – and 400,000 mailboxes overall – are under Intermedia’s management. Premium mailboxes use Microsoft’s full MAPI license, which includes a downloadable copy of Microsoft Outlook, the power to share calendars, and other features essential to business.
Exchange 2010 and its Outlook Web Access interface introduce several features designed to enhance the user experience, such as conversation-style email formats and full compatibility with Safari and Firefox browsers. Users can apply for Intermedia’s beta atwww.exchange2010beta.com
