Nielsen teaming up with Google

Nielsen, television ratings, is teaming up with Google to provide users of its new TV ad platform with demographic data. The partnership will help Google as it seeks to spread its influence beyond the Web into other multimedia channels.
Under the agreement, Google will provide Nielsen’s demographic data through its Google TV Ads advertising platform.
Google TV Ads is part of the search giant’s move into traditional media. Operational since May, the online platform for buying and selling TV ads provides users with information that reveals how their ads are performing. What Nielsen will bring to the mix is data from its representative television ratings panels about the demographic composition of the audience. Advertisers will be able to log onto the Google AdWords report center to access that information.
