About 300 public sector engineers conducted a two-hour sit-in outside Jordan's Prime Ministry on Tuesday to protest the government's refusal to meet demands over pay and working conditions, reported Jordan Times. Members of the Jordan Engineers Association were attempting to persuade the government to raise basic salaries by 50% and allowances from 120% to 220%. They also want to be incorporated under the social security system.
