UK Debt Management Office schedules 9 gilt auctions for Oct-Dec

he UK’s Debt Management Office said it has scheduled nine gilt auctions for the third quarter of the fiscal year.
In its quarterly meeting with gilt market participants, the DMO agreed to hold five auctions for conventional gilts and four for index-linked gilts.
The conventional auctions will be held on Oct 2, Nov 1, Nov 6, Nov 28 and Dec 4. The index-linked auctions will be held on Oct 10, Oct 24, Nov 20, and Dec 12.
The final gilt issuance calendar for Oct-Dec 2007 will be announced by the DMO on August 31.
The DMO said that in its discussions with gilt-edged market makers and end investors, most supported at least two reopenings of the 4.25 pct, 2042 maturities for conventional gilts.
