UK DMO schedules 7 gilt auctions for July-September period

The UK’’s Debt Management Office said it has scheduled seven gilt auctions for the July to September period this year.
In its quarterly meeting with gilt market participants, the DMO agreed to hold four auctions for conventional gilts and three for index-linked gilts.
The conventional auctions will be held on July 3, Aug 9, Sept 11 and Sept 13. The index-linked auctions will be held on July 10, July 26 and Sept 26.
The DMO said that market participants expressed strong demand for long-dated maturities, with general support for the 4.50 pct 2042 note to be re-opened twice. Few attendees of the meeting thought there was a need for a new long-dated gilt to be issued, and there was general agreement that the 2012 and 2018 notes should be used for conventional short- and medium-dated issuance.
