Eni and Enel possible candidates for next round of Yukos auction

talian energy companies Eni and Enel have come together with Russian group ESN in order to bid at the next round of the auction of Yukos’ assets, set for April 4, according to Russian daily newspaper Vedomosti.
They have registered their intention to bid via Energogaz, a trust set up by the group, worth 1.11 bln usd (Eni and Enel hold 49 pct of the trust, with ESN holding 51 pct), the newspaper said, citing sources close to Energogaz.
The next round of the auction is expected to consist of a single lot comprising 22 Yukos assets, including 20 pct of Gazprom Neft, Gazprom’s oil unit, and two Yukos units, Arktikgaz and Urengoil.
The starting price for bids has been fixed at 144.8 bln roubles (4.2 bln eur).
